Thanksgiving DIY Paw Print Turkey Craft 🐾🦃

Thanksgiving is all about showing gratitude, and what better way to celebrate than with a keepsake featuring your furry friend? This paw print turkey craft is simple, adorable, and makes the perfect decoration or gift for pet lovers. Plus, it’s a fun way to include your dog in the holiday festivities!

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Nontoxic, pet-safe washable paint (brown for the body, and red, orange, and yellow for feathers)
  • A piece of white cardstock or thick paper
  • Paintbrush or sponge
  • Baby wipes or a damp towel (for easy cleanup!)
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Glue stick or craft glue
  • Black marker or pen
  • Picture frame (optional but makes a cute touch!)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Lay down newspaper or an old towel to keep things clean. Have wipes ready for quick paw cleanups.
  2. Paint the paw: Using the brown pet-safe paint, gently brush an even coat on one of your dog’s paws.
  3. Make the print: Press the paw firmly onto the paper to create the turkey’s body. Lift slowly to reveal the print!
  4. Add the feathers: Once the paw print dries, paint or cut out feather shapes from colored paper (red, orange, and yellow) and glue them above the print.
  5. Add the face and details: Glue on googly eyes, draw a small yellow beak and little stick legs with your marker.
  6. Let it dry: Once everything is set, frame your masterpiece or hang it up for everyone to admire!

Tips for Success

  • Keep treats nearby to reward your pup for being patient.
  • If your dog isn’t a fan of having their paw painted, you can trace it instead and fill it in with paint or markers.
  • Label your art with your pet’s name and the year—it’s a fun tradition to repeat every Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving, make something you’ll treasure for years—a little piece of art that captures your pet’s paw and your gratitude.
