The Honest Kitchen Thrive is a gluten-free, low carbohydrate dog food designed to cater to dogs of all life stages including adults, puppies, pregnancy and nursing. Thrive is ideal for sensitive dogs who need gluten-free dog food but with a little grain, to help maintain a healthy body weight.

Thrive is very minimalist, nourishing diet which is also recommended for dogs with sensitivities: It contains NO fruits, or flax.

Honest Kitchen's quinoa is fair-trade, sustainably grown and 100% certified organic. Naturally gluten-free, quinoa is a valuable source of complete protein. It contains every single amino acid and is especially well-endowed with the amino acid lysine, which is essential for tissue growth and repair. In addition to protein, quinoa features a host of other health-building nutrients. Because quinoa is a very good source of manganese, iron, copper and phosphorous, this grain may be especially valuable for diabetes and atherosclerosis.

Life Stage
All life stages including growth, puppies, pregnancy, lactation, adult maintenance and seniors.

The Honest Kitchen Thrive formula is available in 4 lb. and 10 lb. bags.

I really think that is a great product. Especaily as an alternative to dry kibble! I feed my dog a raw diet and was looking for something as a back up for traveling or just not having the time for raw. My dog loved this food but after a few days started getting sick, she threw it up and would not touch the food after that. She had the worst bloated stomach with really bad gas...the only thing she would eat was fresh raw chicken and pureed pumpkin. I do not think that there was anything wrong with the food, but appearently she can't handle one of the ingredients, I think it is the quinoa - I never feed her grains. So, now I need to figure out what to do with this brand new box of food that my dog can't eat. :/

I tried feeding my dogs Thrive at the recommendation of an Honest Kitchen rep when I explained that I had a dog battling cancer and also one that has experienced repeated ear infections, which a vet thought might be the result of food allergies. Both dogs loved Thrive, and the dog with ear probelms got a good report from the vet after being on this food for a month. I discontinued using Thrive several months solely due to cost (having to feed 2 dogs) and also the fact that our local health food store quit selling it. After experimenting with other foods, I have now returned to Thrive because my dogs did so well on it..no allergies, better coat, good energy, and plus I believe it's a good alternative to frozen raw or canned/dry food. I think it is worth the price and am glad to have found a source online where I can actually order it for less than I paid locally.

I put my golden on this formula after cooking for her for about seven years. I was just plain tired of it all, and this formula matches what I was cooking, is cheaper, and is much more convenient. The only problem is her impatience while we wait for the food to rehydrate. Small complaint.

I have been feedint The Honest Kitchen Thrive for a few years now. My dogs absolutely LOVE this food. I have Shar Pei who are known for their numerous medical issues which includes skin issues caused, in part, by food allergies. Feeding my dogs a well balanced, holistic diet helps reduce the number of medical issues my dogs face. I find this food particularly helpful for my oldest Pei who suffers from Bloat. She does not baloon up like she used to when she ate dry, commercial dog foods. I also feed this to my other Shar Pei who has been diagnosed with Kidney Failure for the past three years. The fact that I just wrote I have a dog who has had kidney failure for 3 years is amazing to me as I have lost 3 other Shar Pei to Kidney Failure very soon after their diagnoses were given. I credit The Honest Kitchen with helping me care for my dogs in the best way possible. I love that this food is here for those of us who can feed the very best to our fur-kids.
