Our beautiful little children are exceedingly picky as far as budgies go. We have tried different mixes, fresh fruits, veggies, tubers, herbs, sprouted seeds, etc...We introduced them ever so slowly, even covertly disguised, and somehow they new and stayed away. We tried adding a full spectrum lamp to perhaps help them to visualize better, and they simply got angry and flew at us squawking, until they got their old mix. They would even pick up vegetable slivers with their beaks and throw them at us and stare at us in defiance! We love our little babies. They are our world and we want the best for their long, health and happy lives. I came across Dr. Harvey’s Best Parakeet food and ordered a container on a whim expecting the status quo, and to our surprise, they seem to enjoy the mix. Our little girl is now eating the dehydrated vegetables and some of the herbs. Our little boy picks out his likings, but at least he is eating from the mix-I think he will come around. I like the idea of feeding our babies all natural food suited for human consumption, as I would not feed them anything I would not eat, so yes…I tasted Dr. Harvey's Best Parakeet food myself and it is surprisingly good! It is on the costly side as far as mixes go, but they are our only children and as responsible parents we are willing to go a little extra on the disease prevention side now in the hopes of minimizing health issues in the long run. The BEST food you could ever feed your parakeet! Nickie won't eat any other brand, he knows the best is in his cup. Organic as well as human grade.. Dr Harvey knows how to nourish birds as well as dogs and cats. Worth every penny and then some!

My parakeet was on the last half cup of Halo Fantasy Seeds I had left after they were no longer on the market. I was frantic that I couldn't find anything as fresh and fragrant that he would eat. I tried several store brands which he refused to eat, Now I have finally found what I have been looking for. When I open his cage door, and put fresh seed in, instead of immediately popping out for a visit, he stops first to dig into his fresh seed - something he never did before (even with his old favorite seed). Buster Blue loves Harveys!! Worth every penny!

I use this for my cockatiels as there is less waste. They love the smaller pieces. They are much more lively and one is plucking less.

I combine this mix with Dr. Harvey's cockatiel mix for my cockatiel because he seems to like the smaller pieces at this point in his young life. I feel good feeding this to him because of the quality and freshness of the ingredients, and he loves to eat it because of the yummy goodness!

Being new to Budgies, I wanted only the best. Having experienced the quality and excellent results of the dog food I knew the parakeet seed would be the best for my birds. They love it and I'm one happy customer

Wow! Great mix of food for parakeet. Smells like fresh food (grass). Mix of small and larger (i.e. papaya). Think for what you get is good price and value.

My parakeets really enjoyed this food. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. The great thing about it is there is no chemicals or other bad stuff in it for birds and it has a good mix of seed, fruit and vegitables.
