This is one of few grain free dry cat foods my cat would eat. This food is on my cat food list when it is on sale.

I switched my cat from a veterinary diet(that he never wanted to eat) to this grain-free, all natural product and he is doing better than ever! I recommend this food to anyone that wants a healthy happy kitty on an all natural diet. It also must taste great because he's a very picky eater & now I don't have to worry about him eating.

We got our 7 year old cat from a shelter five years ago. We wanted to wait on commenting on how she's doing with the Acana because she needs a couple of months on a food before we have any idea if it's good for her or not. The shelter will not give us any info about her background because she came from a household that had criminal activities. They told us what they were feeding her and that she liked it and would probably continue to thrive on it (science diet), but 6 months later she started walking away from her dish and eventually was throwing it up (whole). We started looking for another food. Tried Nature's Recipe but she was bored with it after a couple of months. The vet suggested Science Diet vet formula wet foods which she wouldn't even touch. For some reason they were no help with suggestions for another dry food which is all we've ever fed her. We then went to Wellness brand and at first she started to eat it just fine, but after 12-15 months she started rejecting it and throwing it up whole sometimes. We tried another flavor and that went well for a couple more months but then she started throwing that up. To say the least it's been a battle with her. Then after researching other possibilities we came up with the Acana dry food. First, she seemed to enjoy it but ate less at every sitting. She showed no signs that she was starving, just had a better pace to eating than she'd had before. Then, we started noticing that she was developing an attention span for playing (something that we always dreamed she have but never showed signs of). Besides her difficulties with food in the five years we've had her we've never been able to get her to play. She plays on her own and with us now. Acana is the first food that we've seen her actually thrive on. It's been great!

The quality of this food is excellent but two of our kitties like the Orijen better and the other two kitties like the Acana Grasslands. I would still recommend this food as it is a good quality food and costs a little less than the Orijen.

So far, the only food they've been really excited about is EVO, but when I poured this into their bowls, they went crazy. I'm adding it to my list of preferred dry food brands.
