I use a mortar and pestle to make the treats into a powder which I use as a condiment on their food. We feed multiple quasi- feral cats.

I had been buying freeze-dried chicken from another, more expensive source and was worried whether this brand would compare. There's a definite difference in texture between the two. Grandma Lucy's is a bit harder to break up into smaller, cat-sized pieces (I've considered a hammer). Kitty likes them and has been eating them, but only she will ever know which brand rules. I don't think she's quite as crazy about these, but that may be my own biased opinion after damaging my nails on them (trying to make into smaller chunks). Pricewise, they beat the competition.
