Juvenile Pubic Symphysiodesis (JPS)-A Preventative Surgery For Hip Dysplasia
This is a surgery for pups who may possibly develop hip dyslplasia (HD) at some point in their life.
Please do not allow your vet to do this surgery. Never put a dog thru unnecessary surgery.
This is just a money maker for vets.
If your vet pushes this surgery (or even suggests it) please find another vet.
If you suspect your pup has hip issues go to an orthopedic vet for x-rays.
Some vets will say pups with loose hips have or will develop HD. This is not an indication of HD. A pup that lies down with back legs out like a frog is not a sign of HD.
